Privacy Policy

CamDeck keeps your image library, imported videos, lower-third presets, folder structure, and settings on your own Mac, in the app's local storage. None of it is uploaded anywhere, backed up to a server we run, or visible to us. If you delete the app, that data is gone unless you've backed it up yourself.

CamDeck has no account system and no background telemetry. The only times it talks to the network are things you directly trigger:

• Weather mode sends the zip code you enter to a weather data provider to fetch current conditions. It isn't sent anywhere else or stored on any server we control.
• RSS mode fetches whatever feed URL you type in, directly from that feed's own server.
• Add Image from URL downloads the image you paste a link to, directly from that link's server.
• Now Playing mode reads track info from your local Spotify or Apple Music app on your Mac — this never leaves your device.
• Camera extension approval and app updates rely on standard macOS/Apple system checks (the same notarization and Gatekeeper checks any signed Mac app goes through).

None of these requests include your name, email, or any identifying account info, because CamDeck doesn't have any of that to send.

CamDeck requests camera access so it can read your physical webcam and re-broadcast a composited feed as its own virtual camera. That video is processed entirely on your Mac and sent only to whatever app you choose it as a camera source in (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) — it is never sent to us. CamDeck does not access your microphone.

We cannot see or monitor your camera in any way, at any time. There is no remote access, no cloud processing, and no way for us to view your feed — everything happens locally on your own Mac. When you click Stop Camera Feed in the app, CamDeck shuts the camera off completely, the same as quitting any other camera app.

This site (camdeckapp.com) doesn't run analytics scripts, ad trackers, or set marketing cookies. It's hosted on standard web infrastructure, which means the hosting provider's servers log basic technical request data (like IP address and browser type) the way virtually every website's server does — that's infrastructure-level logging, not something we collect or use ourselves.

If you choose to leave a tip via Buy Me a Coffee, that transaction is handled entirely by Buy Me a Coffee's own platform under their own privacy policy and payment processor — we don't receive or store your payment details.

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of CamDeck adds a feature that changes what data moves where — this page will be updated with a new "Last updated" date. We won't quietly start collecting more without saying so here.
